Hyundai Sonata Embera launched in India

Sonata: where safety is primary

A stiff, strong body shell is at the core of Sonata’s safety standards. It is also equipped with the latest electronically controlled anti-lock braking system which proves to be helpful in avoiding accidents. In the event of an accident, the multiple air bags and other safety technologies ensure maximum safety of the occupants. The all new Sonata also has an impact sensing auto door unlock system as one of its safety features.

The Hyundai Sonata Embera gets its name from a warrior class in Central America, named the Embera, Hyundai Motor India said in a press release. The Sonata Embera sports a high-power 2.4 Litre, four cylinder, aluminum VTVT (Variable Timing Valve Train) engine, which churns out a power of 165 ps @ 5,800 rpm, ensuring fast response and solid acceleration. The Sonata Embera comes with a maximum torque of 23.6 kgm @ 4,250 rpm. Hyundai claims that the Embera has excellent pick-up and performance.

Sonata’s body structure is technically highly advanced. Completely computer designed and engineered, the car makes use of different categories of steel that would crumple at the front and rear in the event of an impact – in order to absorb the energy –while protecting the occupants in the center section. Steel structures in the doors act as additional side impact beams. Dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags for enhanced safety
In the event of an accident, the multiple air bags and other safety technologies ensure maximum safety of the occupants.

Back-up sensors
They are there, but you have to look more closely. The sensors that activate the back-up warning alarm are now
body-coloured. Power window cut off
Electric window lift power is cut off if sensors detect there is an obstacle in the way – such as a child’s fingers

Front Seatbelt Pretensioners
It pulls back occupants to prevent them from injuries due to sudden forward jerk, & maintains their optimal distance to facilitate airbag deployment
Load Limiter
It releases pressure of the tensed seat belts, thus minimising chances of secondary injuries (due to seat belt tightening)
Allows occupants to have cushioning of inflated airbag ABS (Antilock Braking System) with EBD
ABS prevents wheel lock-up during braking, thus prevents skidding & ensuring steering control
EBD Distributes brake force efficiently between front & rear wheels
Minimised stopping distance- safe braking

Electro Chromic Mirror(Anti dazzle mirror)
The interior mirror has an electro-chromic device that prevents the headlamps of following vehicles from dazzling the driver.
